I find myself easily distracted. It’s the nature of a dog to be that way. We are tuned into paying attention to a lot of things at once, like smells, movement, and noises. Sometimes I don’t know which one to give my attention.

I’m working on developing my concentration by playing catch. If I take my eye off the ball for a moment, I miss it. I can usually find it again with my nose, but that’s not nearly as much fun as snatching it out of the air. So I practice and practice catching the ball and not letting noises or smells distract me from my goal. I practice as long as Jane and Rhett’s arms hold out. Practice is vital if you want to be the best at something. And it’s VERY rewarding when you see improvement.

What are you going to practice today? Whatever it is, practice it first in your mind, doing it perfectly. Then go do it for real.

Let me know how that works for you!

Love, Indy
