By the end of the lesson I felt as though I couldn't ride because every move I made was met not only with negativity but forced me to focus on the negative. In retrospect I think she lacked the ability to articulate the instructions in a more positive way. (Example: Don't pull back on the reins. Rephrase: Push the horse forward into the bridle.)
