  2. Sean Magill says:

Youtube video made my day as I’m both a dressage enthusiast and psychotherapist. Looking forward to more of your inspirational gifts.

  3. Kathy says:

I love getting these daily videos, how inspiring. Jane, you are such a generous person, wonderful teacher and great motivator, I too love your Happy Horse course. Thank you for the bonus DVD, that was an excellent surprise:)

  4. Carla Varasso says:

Hi Jane, I just had to write and let you know how much I’ve enjoyed the “youtube” videos….I love my videos and dvd’s which I have of yours (all of them:-), but it’s really nice to see something current! Thanks for continuing to support your fans and long distance/at home students! Sincerely, Carla Varasso Ohio

  5. Coralie says:

Hi, Jane. Your Happy Horse training program is just fantastic. You are filling in so many holes in my education and my horse notices the difference!! Just one question..if it is appropriate to ask it here…Inthe connecting half halt…if it takes a little while for the horse to respond (being quite young still) do I hold my legs on steady and keep the tension on the outside rein and do I keep twinkling away with the inside rein…or is there pulsing witht he legs and outside hand and I still only do the 3 twinkles with the inside hand? Thanks for the clarification. I wish you could see how much improved my little mare is…I guess I really should say..how much improved her Mom is…due to you. I’m also reading Walter Zettl’ Harmony in Dressage. It’s so much fun that you and Walter Zettl are precisely consistent! Makes it so easy for me!….Best regards.

  6. Ellen says:

Thank you so much for doing this. As another commented your generosity is as greatly appreciated. Your teachings are very much appreciated.

  7. Kelly O’Leary says:

I too attended your clinic at Hilltop – I recognize the “YES-YES-YES” in your first YouTube video :) Thanks so much sharing your knowledge, encouragement and tips with all of us via YouTube ! Keep ‘em coming!

  8. April Reeves says:

It’s about time someone put out something of use. You stand out from the crowd and actually give us real content. No fluff here – you deliver accurate, clear information that makes you want MORE! Everyone else can just play ‘catch up’ to you Jane.

  9. Mara Singer says:

Hi Jane, I LOVE your You Tube videos — how inspiring! I can’t wait for my day in the sun to have you join us here in the Rockies for a clinic! Warmest Regards, Mara

  10. Sharon says:

Jane, I am really enjoying your YouTube videos. Today’s was well beyond my level of learning but it is definitely motivating me to stick with it. You are such a gentle teacher. Thanks

  11. Laura King says:

Can you not do 2 videos a day? I just can’t get enough!! I stop what I’m doing and watch when the email comes in with the new links! Keep up the great work. I was at your clinic at Chateau Elan in Fall 07 and just love your teaching and your positive-ness! You’re a great motivator for a newbie!

  12. Leslie says:

I love you’re youtube videos, I’ve seen your Happy Horse series and think it’s just terrific. Thanks for sharing, you make learning fun and my horses enjoy all the new lessons that you’ve provided for us.

  13. Joan says:

Enjoying the YouTube video’s. Keep them coming. I heard the horse was 7yrs of age, but didn’t hear where the horse was in level of education for you to be asking for this type of work? Was there a lead up that I missed? I did hear you say to step up through verses going out the back door, was that why? If so, at what age and level would you work this into the training?

  14. Nell says:

I am working my way through your Happy Horse series also. It’s helping me rebuild my confidence – a couple of years ago I had a really bad fall, broke 2 ribs and nearly punctured a lung. I’m middle aged – and the ground gets harder every year. Anyway – I’ve had a bit of a time coming back from back from that so I’m looking forward to some of your information about dealing with fear. Thanks – you’re one working lady!!

  15. Leslie Heltzen says:

Hi Jane, I purchased the “A Happy Horse” Training lessons and I am a “Happy Rider.” Years ago I asked my trainer to just give me the “A B C Steps” and I will do it. That was not available to me until I purchased your lessons. Thank You, you have filled in so many gaps in my learning and I am on the 5th dvd. gotta go.

  16. Jodie Clineschmidt says:

Hi Jane, I attended the clinic at Hilltop and was overwhelmed by the information you presented. The recent videos are a welcome review of some of the topics covered but I was hoping that you might send one about the half halt and one about the suppling exercise you covered. My hastily scribbled notes cannot do your concepts justice. Thanks so much for sharing. Jodie

  17. Ashley says:

Thank you for sharing your videos – you are very generous. I have learned so much already and look forward to viewing more. Thanks again, Ashley – Wellfleet, MA

  18. Diana Mark says:

Jane, you are a very gifted communicator. I purchased your new series as one of your very first buyers, yet haven’t even cracked it! The reason is because I previously purchased another one of your DVD series, and have now watched each video about 5 times. Even today, watching one of them for the 5th time, I couldn’t believe that I was still learning something new! It is so awesome to have this information in a variety of formats, particularly in our busy lifestyles. I’ve copied the DVDs I purchased onto my IPOD and often watch you on my commute to or from work. Your instructions are so clear and helpful! I’m currently riding a soon-to-be 4 year old thoroughbred, and having a ball training her. We go in our first show in two weeks, so it should be fun. I look forward to years of learning from you. And you know what, your attitude so comes across – willingness to teach, to share of yourself…with regular “joes” like me! Thanks again.

  19. Teri McMullen says:

Jane, I can’t say how much you have inspired me. I too was at the Clinic @ Hilltop. You have a way of making things make sense. I’m so glad you are sharing the videos it helps to re-enforce the clinic material and the things that I might have missed. Keep them coming…. please.

  20. Diana Boyle says:

The clinic at Hilltop was awesome. You are one energetic, inspiring woman. Thank you for the u tube videos. Very nice reinforcement of use of outside rein. Have used the suppling exercises- works wonders.

  21. Lucy says:

Thanks for the videos and the Happy Horse Course. My horse is recoving from a bout of lyme disease, but I am studying anyway! I can’t wait til Nova is better, so that we can have some fun. I do need clarification. On the video concerning the outside rein. I’m not quite sure what you did with the rein to turn the horse. Did you move it closer to his neck? did you simply hold it steady? Thank you.

  22. Liz Gooch says:

The visualisation video was excellent. I have used these techniques myself to overcome hacking issues with a previous horse. Thanks so much for giving me a gentle reminder how powerful these are! I also watched the outside rein you tube video. Again I tried this on my horse whilst hacking and it has certainly improved my communication. A big thanks for sharing this with us, much indebted. Liz

  23. Jennifer says:

It is nice to know that you can institute every discipline and every sport with simple dressage exercises, and they do work, I used the open rein technique and can now get my stallion to side pass, other wise all I could get him to do was circle, now we side pass with ease. Also using the stretching exercises keeps me balanced and centered in the saddle. I recommended your book “Simple Dressage: for every horse, every sport.” to my friends it is any easy book to comprehend and understand!! Thank you Jane

  24. Claudia says:

Your videos demonstrating how to communicate with the horse are great! I look forward to riding today.

  25. Regina Stamps says:

Thank you for the YouTube videos. I open them as soon as I get the email and watch them immediately! No exceptions!

  26. Jane Savoie says:

Hi Coralie, Your legs and outside hand stay STEADY. Close your legs as if you’re squeezing toothpaste out of a tube and keep your outside hand in a fist to capture, contain and recycle the energy back to the hind legs. If your horse doesn’t understand, do the “accelerate onto a small circle” exercise a few times….and then go back to trying your 3 second half halt again. The circle exercise magnifies the 3 sets of aids that make up the half halt (driving aids, bending aids, and rein of opposition)That exercise should help your horse understand what you want her to do with her body when you give the half halt.

  27. Jane Resutek says:

Hey Jane, I learn so much from the video. You are the reason I am riding today. I have gone to some of you clinics, listened to you tapes, watched your DVD ect. ect. I started riding very late in life. Though I had horses all my life I was the horse show mom for my two children. When they finished college I kept my son’s horse and began to ride correctly. There is so much to learn but it is what keeps me going. And you are my heroine!! Thanks so much for sharing

  28. Lauren says:

Can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying and learning from your videos. Some include reminders of things I’m trying to incorporate into my work with my horse and others are variations or new ideas/approaches which add to the fun of this journey! Thank you.

  29. Hey Jane!
Me and my pony, Dancer, attended your clinic in ottawa, and I just want to thank you for teaching us so much! It was an experience that I will never forget. Thanks for teaching me the secrets of dressage =)

  30. Haras Ambato says:

I will link your site to our blog wich is visited for 300 persons each day (average). We have quoted you several time
    Kind regards

  31. Love your website, thank you for putting all this help out up in the open. Great job, really enjoy to soak it all in!

  32. Cindy Payne says:

There isn’t enough years to absorb everything Jane has to teach me! I’ve just begun reading Cross Train Your Horse and as a left-brained, overanalytical, list making, thinker myself this is exactly what I’ve needed. My riding instructor is forever teling me to stop thinking so hard and just ‘do’ and with Jane’s help that task has become much easier. Thanks you Jane. Oh, I love my riding instructor, we’ve been working together for years and she has figured me and my horse out but I’m glad to have Jane’s input from her books and newsletters as well.

  33. Patricia McMahon says:

I first heard of you when I learned I had missed the clinic you did for Alpha Dressage in Sarasota and wished we had moved here from South America a little sooner so I could attend. That’s okay, I’m here now and just struck it rich last night when I discovered your website, newsletter, etc. I can’t wait to take in everything you so generously have put out there for all of us dressage lovers, specially since my KWPN project deserves the best. I will be sharing my newly acquired wealth with friends in Venezuela. P.S. I think it was great to introduce your husband because certainly most of us couldn’t really dedicate ourselves to this dressage life journey without their unwavering support. Bravo Jane.

  34. Shannon Morris says:

I just love the Happy Horse Videos. I listen to them frequently, and find different tips each time. I really find my lessons more fullfilling and they help me focus on what I am really asking my horse to do. My trainer is super, but your DVDs help to bring up valuable tips that I can use to make the work more effective and the progress quicker. You make the concepts much more simple and clear, which is a good way to start. The basics are always so important. A good teacher is hard to fine. I love all the visualizations.

    Thank you Jane.

  35. Petra Z. McGowan says:

hi jane, just want to say thank you for the great tools that you provide to fearful riders…you helped me enjoy riding again…
    thanks
    petra

  36. Victoria says:

Jane, I took a lesson from you 20 years ago in New Hampshire while riding with Gail Harrington. I am so glad to find you again when I am far way from the dressagy people of my life. This is great! BTW your still as real & as down to earth as ever with practical tips that make EASY! Thank you! Victoria

  37. Thanks for the tips and video. I will be using it in the following new year, since it is my resolution to take dressage lessons.

  38. Judy says:

Hi Jane, I am an older gal…had a horse when I was just a kid and didn’t know much. Now I want to get back into owning a horse. Am taking my time. Learning all I can before hand. I have been to probably 20-30 websites of trainers and keep coming back to yours and 2 others. Thanks so much…when I finally make my purchase I will be concentrating much more seriously on your site and the information you have. Thank you, Judy

I really love your web page. I have a golden (Dusty) and he brings so much joy to my life too. I know I could learn more from him if I tried. Your site has now been saved to my favorites and I plan to read it every morning, just so I can start the day with a smile. Thanks for that gift. Also, I love the Youtube videos!!! What a wonderful way to inspire me to ride better.

Jane is super! Very clear information! I am from Russia, and nobody couldn’t help me with my changes. I read Jane’s “so you want to start flying changes” and watched YouTube, and now I have no problem with it. Thank you, Jane, for your site!

  45. admin says:

Terrific! You’ll also find lots of tips on my Facebook page called Solve Horseback Riding Fears.
    Enjoy!
    Jane

  46. william thanakorn scorpion says:

thanks, you are one of those people that sees beyond the technical aspects of horse riding, you show there are feelings, emotions and touch in dealing with horses and riding, not some dogmatic, old school methods that are really outdated as far as i am concern, being an instructor, we sometimes find ourselves dealing with people who goes “by the book” and such and a such a method must be used to follow a certain school of thought or method, by and large, every horse and rider is different, the basics are of course very very important but after that, it should be common sense, experience and case to case situation to deal with a particular horse or rider…end of day, the one and only teacher is our horse..you keep up the good work and send my love to your dog…

  47. Sue Williams says:

Hi Jane, I just wanted to thank you for all the instruction so generously given. I have just started riding again after 20 years and I am soaking it all in. I love your blogs from Moshi and Indie. They are so heartfelt and sincere that I am quite often in tears over my morning cup of coffee! At 49 I am dreaming of owning my own horse again just like when I was a little girl! Thanks so much for the inspiration and excellent instruction :)

    Sue
